Senai Kilangu Kola

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 kg Senai Kilangu (Yam)
  • 5 Dried Red Chillies
  • 100 gms Nilakadaliai (Groundnut)
  • 4 tbsp Coconut
  • 1 tsp Perunjeeragam
  • Tumeric Powder (A Pinch)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 Medium Sized Onion finely chopped
  • Curry Leaves
  • 3 tsp Chopped Coriander leaves
  • Oil to fry

Method:

  1. Remove the skin from the Senai Kilangu and cut them into small pieces. Wash and drain thoroughly.
  2. Dry grind groundnuts, coconut and chillies.
  3. Then add Senai Kilangu, turmeric and grind it to a coarse paste without adding water. Please note do not grind to a very smooth paste.
  4. Add salt, finely chopped onion, coriander and curry leaves to the ground paste.
  5. Make small balls and deep fry in the hot oil until golden brown.
